Meet the Family
When we moved into our new home we had a litter of kittens born under the shed in the backyard next store. They were all wild so they weren't lovey kittens. All but two of those kittens where caught and taken to the animal shelter. Since then I have inherited the cats of the neighborhoods. I started this past thanksgiving feeding them. I feed them turkey from the table...first mistake. Then I felt bad when they would hang around the back porch waiting to be feed again. So, there you have it. They are feed in the morning and the afternoon one bowl. However, I know feed four cats. They have become my outdoor babies and so today I wanted to let you meet the family.
Judah was the first one to come around. He will let us pet him and is quiet friendly. I am pretty sure he has a home that he goes to because he comes by about every other day, but we did name him and he does come. We figured that he was a "he" because is he is teritorial. Either way...meet Judah.
Blackie is not so friendly and will run if you take two steps toward him. He is one of the cats from the litter and comes running from anywhere in the neighborhood. I have even seen him cross the street. Meet blackie. He wouldn't let me take a close picture of him looking at me. He looked away every time I clicked the camera.
Momma. We'll she is due here very soon. In a few weeks you should be able to see a sign in the front yard for "Free Kittens". She is apart of the litter from last summer too. She doesn't let us get close either but she doesn't go far from our back porch. She stays close to home and is right there when it is feeding time. I made a bed for her under the back porch but she hasn't nestled into it yet. I have a feeling I will be crawling under the shed to catch these kittens. But all I know is I can't feed anymore kittens in the backyard. She's too cute. Here's momma.
The last one only comes around on the weekends that I know of and likes to hide under the house at times. He is real sweet and Judah doesn't stand for him much when he comes around. He is still small and very much a baby. I don't think he is more than six months old. He also has a home around the corner from us, but still likes to say hello and grab a snack when he is around. Meet the stray baby.
